So I've taken a look at the Schedule of Classes to get an idea of what classes I could take next year at USC (I'm a spring '09 admit), and somehow, I couldn't find out how many units the General Education Requirements constitute. I'd just like to know how many units each GE course is worth. Anybody know how I can find that out?
Speaking of units: You need at least 128 units for a degree. Is it possible to squeeze GE, your major, and a minor into that, or does that typically require more units?

4 units per course, 32 units per year, which works out to 4 courses per semester. GE, major and minor should be absolutely no problem, IMO. Two majors will require careful planning.

For a double major, can courses overlap? For example, can a particular course that's offered in both be applied to both majors, or does one need a certain amount of units for each major?
Also, can GE courses be chosen that would count towards the major, or minor?

So that would be 24 units for categories I to VI, another 4 for the Diversity requirement, and 4+3 for Writing 140 and 340. No Foreign Language requirement for me, since I'm an international student, muahah :D That's 35 in total. So if my major's requirements add up to 44 units, I could basically "spend" the rest of the remaining units on electives and/or a minor? Is that how it works?

awelex - yes, that's how it works. And some of your major req's might satisfy one of the GE's or diversity req. E.g., for critical studies, and I think for production, there's a race/gender in film class that is required, and also meets the diversity requirement.

Sequoia - yes, some GE's do count toward some majors. I don't know about the overlap, but it seems logical that would work.

Thanks rainmama.
It' going to be quite an undertaking figuring out the courses.

Thank you all for your answers!
