Academica GPA

Do you think NEU only looks at academic gpa because my academic one is very low because I got straight Bs. It's like a 3.25, but 3.45 will all the classes and 3.7 weighted. Is that really bad? will it ruin my chances? I got a 2010 on my sats and all my classes are ap and honors.

So what is your unweighted gpa?

3.25 or 3.45.

my unweighted gpa is 3.45, but thats with like foreign language, gym, and electives. For just my academic classes, like math, science, history, and english, its 3.25:/

Also I see you posting a lot on these boards about chances for neu, and your stats are constantly changing, specifically your gpa

Every college, including neu, looks at UNweighted GPA first and foremost. While your weighted gpa is important, it primarily serves to give context to your unweighted gpa - meaning how hard of classes did you take, and how well you did.

Taking all honors and ap classes, while nice to see, is not an excuse to get Bs. Because there will be thousands of other applicants who took those same classes and got As.

You should have taken classes that are not only challenging, but suitable for you to get an A.

My gpa isnt constantly changing. I just calculated my academic gpa to see what I got without all the easy classes. Do you think I messed up my chances though?

How is constantly changing if you already submitted your EA app more than a month ago?

Your unweighted gpa is whatever it was when you submitted the app.

And the admissions board doesn’t just see numbers. While they won’t specifically see something called “Academic GPA” they are going to look thoroughly through your transcript.

If they see your GPA is only as high as it is because of lets say Gym, or foreign language, then yes, I am going to assume it will hurt your chances.

Obviously an A in AP Econ and a B in gym looks much better than an A in gym and a B in AP Econ.

I didnt know if everyone was giving out their gpa with or without the extra classes so I just decided to give out my academic gpa. And thank you for the opinion.
