do i have a shot or are these schools completley out of my league?

maybe if you get your math score up a bit

I could never say that those schools are out of your league, but your math score is significantly low for those schools. What is your GPA? That could help a bit…

Are you a junior? If so, you have time to retake (and take a couple of SAT IIs as well). Math is definitely an issue for you. They won’t want to accept someone who they feel can’t do well in the classes. And, math and CR are the most important sections.

However, I have written this before, and maybe I’ll change my tune after next April, but as the mother of an “Academically Competitive African-American Female” myself, I really think everyone should be careful assuming that AA status has that much of an impact. If I believed that, I would only be paying the application fees for 7 colleges, instead of 13 (!)

If *your *scores are “academically competitive for Princeton and Columbia (??!)”, then my kid’s scores (and other stats, honors, awards and ECS) are through the roof. But, we still expect quite a few rejections. How can anyone be confident of acceptance to schools with below 10% acceptance rates?

Barnard - reach
Columbia - high reach
NYU - reach
Rutgers - high match
TCNJ - match
Princeton - super reach
FDU - safety
Georgetown - reach
American - high, high match

You left out the most important factor: your grades.
