I’m in my 4th semester of college.
Chemical Engineering.
At a pretty good (top 30ish for its ChE undergrad program) OOS State U
Anyway, I’ll be dismissed after this semester. Failed lots of classes last sem which got me to academic probation immedietly.
I did not excel as I wanted this semester. So Academic dismissal.
I would need next semester or two to reevaluate myself and be more mature and a good student - a student that knows how to study. I just don’t know how. Well I know the theory, I just dont have the discipline or habit of doing it. In HS, I just listened to class and maybe review if big test come up but never actually studied.
I’m planning to get a job to pay out loans and help out with family. Also take a few classes at my local CC as recommended by others to have a strong reinstatement case if I wanted to comeback.
I just want to know if I now have an opportunity to maybe get into my dream school (UCLA) or other Uni for that instead of only thinking about going back? I know, that was stupid to say as I just got dismissed, but is that possible?
I basically failed my whole sophomore year. I’m not sure how possible it is to transfer. I mean like do I have too much credits to transfer now? After this semester, I have around 62 total (passed) credits (include are 10 AP transfer credit, 3 Waived Credit, and 4 CC transfer credit) and 8 failed credits. I passed 2 classes(6 credits) that I failed last semester - This is not included in 8 failed credit.
Who do I contact? I really want to go to UCLA even when I was in HS but got rejected. I was naive and stupid. Went to my safety school instead. Then again i dont remember how good their ChE program is (if i still want to do Chem Engr).
I’m asking this because it might be better for me to go to a school that I will actually be proud of. To have school pride which i kinda lack right now.
It will be cheaper too basing only tuition since I live in CA.
