academically dismissed what now

So I've attended CUNY Hunter College for 3 semesters and I've barely went to classes. With a GPA of less than 1 the school academically dismissed me. Half a year passed by and I think I am ready to start fresh at a community college like LaGuardia, Queensborough, or BMCC, but I have no clue how to reapply to these colleges. Do i apply as a transfer student or as a freshman? Of course i don't want to transfer my credits from Hunter; only have around 6 credits. I'm going to visit all three colleges mentioned above and talk with their advisors and see what I'm supposed to do but I would like some advice beforehand.

Sounds like you answered your own question. Talk to the school advisors. You would be a transfer student, even if you don’t like what you transfer in. At most schools, failing to disclose courses taken at an accredited college would be grounds for dismissal.

Yeah you absolutely cannot apply as a freshman. You’re considered a transfer now. Just talk to your advisors and see what your options are. Just make sure that this time around, you go to all your classes, take notes, and study smart so that you don’t fail your classes. Just going classes allows you to retain information.
