Academics, leadership and social life-- What's your recipe for balance?

At some of the other threads, folks are talking about capitalising on the college experience by getting yourself into a lot of stuff -- clubs, sports, speed reading, party etc and etc. Obviously, you are there to make the most out of it but, don't you think in lieu of doing everything students actually get caught up between academics and other things. How do you balance academics, leadership and your social life? Or you prefer to try only one thing at a time?

Focus on Academics at first then join things when your GPA is high.

Work hard sunday through thursday afternoon, then party yourself silly thursday night - sunday morning.

do your work and meet people and hang out with your friends... it's not that hard.

I don't know what exactly you mean by leadership. Worried about the resume? Worry if you want, but I'd prefer to not really worry about that. I'm going to enjoy school, and see where things fall after that. You don't need to be president of 5 things.

combine your leadership and social life...
lol, or just cut back on each a little bit to leave more time.

I am trying to balance out the leadership and academics and social life but this semester has been stabbing me in the throat (figuratively). I try not to party too much OR study too much but lately it's been pretty much study study study, work work work, and the only time I get free is saturday nights and I've pretty much been just crashing out with my boyfriend during those times. He likes to go out but lately we have only been going to little gatherings, not even really parties.

I have school during the day, then homework/relax until dinner, then clubs/AXO some nights after dinner, and then homework/relax after clubs/AXO. And then I go to sleep. On the weekends, I do a lot of homework, but I also go to the movies or the theatre, do AXO stuff, or just hang out with friends or go shopping.

Have classes/work all day from 8-5.
Most nights, practices and club meetings from 6-8.
Homework from 9-12 or so.
Friday nights, weekends=PARTY, catch up on sleep, work, do laundry and grocery shopping and such, some club stuff, plus as much homework as possible.

Its worked for me for three years now. Its all about using every bit of your spare time wisely, and not sleeping alot or watching much tv
