I've heard that cornell is the easiest ivy to get into, but the hardest to get out of. To what extent is this true? are the academics really that difficult (to an extent where students dont have much fun, and spend a large majority of the time working) example: do people study saturday nights? (i would be majoring in economics focusing on business at ILR and also would be doing the pre med track)

If you simply look at acceptance and graduation rates, then, yes, Cornell is the easiest to get into and hardest to get out of. But I think current students will agree when I say that Cornell's academics is challenging but not unfair. You should have plenty of time to have fun and there is a lot of stuff to do on campus.

Not really your primary concern here, but ILR doesn't really offer "Economics focusing on business."

If you want Business then try AEM (Applied Economics Management) at CALS

hmmm ok thanks a lot, i always figured i would be ILR

anyone know how reputable the applied economics management program is? their site really doesn't have much info about it at all other then simply stating the name of the program. is anyone in the program?

ILR has an economics concentration (minor) available...

metfan, US News ranked it at 11th for Undergrad Business and I think Businessweek ranked them 14

http://aem.cornell.edu/flash.htm

well that answers my question well, thanks milki, cornell's program certainly looks impressive

Well ranking of programs doesn't really matter that much... (unless you're like Wharton) because it's all about how good the SCHOOL is. What you should look at is the placement afterwards... which is great.

No problem metfan. doctab, I assume if it's ranked around the top 10, they'd have decent placement.
