Does anyone have an opinion as to which acapella at umd is the best for me, a baritone male. I hear my options are basically

-generics
-pandemonium
-faux paz

there are jewish groups but im not so....im down to those three. any comments or suggestions? ive been singing since i was little and have been in many shows, i can do pop, classic, anything basically--and ive performed in carnegie hall so if that gives u a sense of where i come from.

In my personal opinion, the Generics and the Treblemakers are the two best a cappella groups on campus. (Since you're a male, obviously the Trebs are out.) I think you'll find that people's opinions vary on that though, and I've had friends in both of those groups so I'm probably a little biased!

I think the Generics are hands down the best. All of the groups can sing, but I don't think any can entertain like the Generics (who also sing pretty damn well too). They graduated a lot of people this past semester so they'll be looking for fresh faces.

Did anyone go to their 20th anniversary show? It was AMAZING. I never knew the founders of Da Vinci's Notebook also founded the Generics.

oooo i'm also interested in a cappella. I was wondering, is it really hard to get into an a cappella group? because I was in one at my high school but I was just curious if a capella groups at UMD are really hard to get into.

My roommate this year was in The Generics. I went to a couple of their shows. They all seem like a cool bunch, plus their shows always had good attendance and it seems they have quite the following.
