Accelerated medical programs?

Hey guys! So I just wanted an idea of how accelerated medical programs (6-7 years) are. Just leave any comments, I want to learn about your opinion. Also, does anyone know really good 6-7 year medical programs? How hard is it to get accepted into the Penn State-Jefferson medical program? I really want to go there!
Thanks in advance

They are very difficult to get admitted to.

What would be the chances of someone:

 1. With a 2340 SAT
 2. 33 ACT
 3. Total of 13 APs by end of senior year and performed well
 4. Ranked 2nd out of 215 in competitive school
 5. Volunteers at medical office and hospital
 6. End of junior year: GPA- 105.2
 7. Part of school clubs and activities with leadership positions in some: volleyball, pre med club, grade council, ecology club, national honor society, LOTE honor society, science honor society, math honor society

I believe Rice has one.

WOW, Penn State’s Jefferson program is a like a safety.
I suggest you look at more selective programs.

Rice’s program with Baylor is 4+4. If someone completes early, they still need to wait for their admit year to med school which is 4 years from the admission year to Rice.

Combined programs are very unpredictable. No one can predict one’s chances based on perception of the program. There have been students this year who got into elite programs but not the Penn State’s program and that is the way with many programs.

There are 3 areas important for combined programs - volunteering at hospitals and/or related activities, shadowing, and research. Many of the applications are broken down into these sections.

I think UMKC offers a 6 year med program, not sure how hard it is to get into though.

EDIT: found thread, stats of students accepted to this program, but is a fairly old thread.
