Hi!
I am from India and I wanted to know-
1. I plant to apply to some accelerated medical programs and I'm going to write the ACT. Even though the programs that I plan to apply to consider ACT scores as well, will I be looked down upon if I upload my ACT scores?
2. I wanted to know what IB score is considered good for applying to such programs.
3. Also, do colleges offering such programs prefer breadth or depth in terms of medical internships?
4. If some one has got into any accelerated medical program, could they please mention some details such as Scores, GPA, EC's etc.
5. Any other advice that I could get?

Also, I’m currently in 11th grade.

Most accelerated med programs are reaches for anyone (and higher than HYPS for the best-ranked ones, like NWU HPME or Brown PLME) and therefore aim for 33+… and what GPA can get you into an accelerated medical program usually lands one a 38+ IB score.

For NWU HPME in particular, research increases their chances greatly, even more if one published, if only as a 9th author out of 10 (if I am not mistaken, the last author is often the sponsor of the research but I could be mistaking medical research literature for condensed matter literature). Finally, pay attention to citizenship (or for public Us, residency sometimes) requirements… perhaps Indian students just can’t apply to some BSc/MD programs.

Thanks, Catria.
Some programs I’m interested in are Case, Drexel, UMIAMI, Florida State University.
I’m a US Citizen, so that’s not a matter of concern. Also, have you tried to apply to any accelerated med program?

Although I haven’t tried to attend an accelerated med myself, I have chanced dozens of students vying for accelerated med spots at Drexel, U Miami, Case, NWU and Brown.

Where I live, though, accelerated med programs account not for a small fraction of total med school spots but for like 1/2 (Quebec) and university admissions are far less painful than it is in the US.

These are my credentials-
Please tell me if I stand a chance-
- Very strong chance of getting a predictive IB score of 41+
- I plant to write the ACT in December. I have scored up to 32 while practicing. I’m pretty sure that I can’t get more than 33.
- I scored 10.0 in my 10th grade CBSE Examination.
