If you accept MIT now, do you or should you withdraw your applications to other colleges? Is it better just to wait until hearing from the other colleges (April 1st) and then accept MIT?

wait until you have all your decisions; you don’t have to make a decision until May 1; use all the time you think you need

If your finances are in order and your decision to attend MIT is firm (ie not swayed by merit aid from other schools), please notify other schools as soon as possible.

Yield management is going to be particularly tough this year. Many students are stranded on wait lists at the schools that are on a par with MIT; you could really help a lot of people out by notifying soon.

my personal opinion is that you should take all the time you need and make your decision and not let anything get in your way of making a clear decision. do not feel pressured to let schools know until you definitely know you want MIT. It is a big decision and you should take as much time as you need to think it through. It might also be a good idea to wait until CPW when you really experience MIT.
