I know it is very early as D has only completed 3 applications, but on Friday she got an acceptance from U of Iowa into their BA in theatre. She applied in dance and arts administration and a theatre minor, but since dance is audition based they accepted her into the theatre BA. D was very excited to know that someone "wanted" her! Long wait until she finds out about dance, but she has to do all her auditions in next semester.

congrats! It’s nice to feel wanted! :)

keepingcalm - one summer during high school my daughter did a journalism program at Univ of Iowa. She loved the Iowians (?), the town and the campus. Congratulations and hope she hears soon about dance

Congratulations, keepingcalm, I hope it’s the first of many!

I got my MFA at U of Iowa, and I loved it so dearly! Iowa City must be one of the great college towns, absolutely safe, beautiful, walkable, so much music, the great bookstore Prairie Lights, and the “corn report” on the news!! Congratulations!

Congrats! :)

I was accepted into the Catawba MT program! So nice to know that you have a place to go!

Congrats mtmtmt!

But how did you get accepted already into Catawba MT when the website says you must audition, and their first date is Nov. 14? I’m confused!

The auditions are for scholarship only, not admission. The website’s kind of unclear because it says both, but after talking to the theatre dept I found that to be the case!

bump to update thread
