Acceptance and Merit Letters

We were able to up the aid given by a $1,000 after talking with the financial aid officer and showing offers from other colleges. It’s important to look at the whole picture too when you are comparing colleges. The sticker price from Champlain was a little less than other privates we were looking at.

Also, some majors may be worth the higher loan amount. We investigated my son’s major pretty well and while there are no guarantees, I would be surprised if he didn’t have an offer by graduation (next year!). The career services department at Champlain is really good. If your senior is interested in doing a study abroad, I have to tell you that I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my son than the one he is having right now in Dublin. And unlike some colleges, the study abroad cost us nothing more than what we were paying in Burlington except for the flight. Our son is paying for his extracurricular fun from his own pocket.

Good luck class of 2014 parents!

Has everyone received their decisions from Champlain? I am still waiting for mine and admitted students day is in a few days. I would really like to weigh all of my options and May 1st is coming up fast.
