Hello everyone, my acceptance to UCLA was cancelled because I reported changes a few weeks ago. The issue I have with the cancellation is that I reported those changes months ago in early March right after the first week my spring classes started stating that I was unable to take the pre-req for my impacted major. When I received my acceptance and I checked my provisional contract, that class was still listed and subsequently I freaked out and had to re-submit the changes.

I thought admissions had read the email months earlier because it was explicitly stated that any changes was to be reported through email.

I don't know what to do at this point. I have signed up to take my last pre-req this summer, but aside from that I am in good standing and am done with everything else. If worst comes to worst, I will reapply in the Fall again because it's my dream to go to UCLA.

No way would i just wait for fall. I would call them, and send in an appeal saying that an update was made and that they should be better at checking their systems. If your recieved your admission decision well past the updated time frame they made their decision based on information you already submitted.

Contact them and ask them why exactly you were rescinded and tell them you are taking the course in the summer.

Fight them, dont just reapply again next year.

Thank you all for your responses. Before I got my acceptance, I was concerned and called admissions often but there was nothing they could do. It was after my acceptance and after looking at the provisional contract did my fears indeed actualize.

I called them after the cancellation and they returned my call via leaving a voice message saying that it was rescinded because I changed my schedule and therefore cannot fulfill my provisional contract. But then that brings me back to the previous issue, which is why didn't they get my update and judge me by my update sent months before?

In the second report I made, after the acceptance, I listed that I will take the class in the summer. Still no go. I will try to appeal.

A question about appealing... they state that you must provide new and compelling information and not repeat information.

In my second report there was hardly any space to explain my situation (they give only about 500 characters). I did mention that I sent my update to datachng@saonet.ucla.edu in early March. Am I being repetitive for mentioning this? I have no new information really.

I am exhausted these past months of worrying myself over this and to the point of nearly giving up now.

vulcan i feel for you man-
don't let this slide...go down there in person and demand to talk to an actual admissions counselor. Don't settle for whatever excuse the desk person will inevitably give you, and don't worry about the line of fifty people behind you. F-em. You got in, you did your part, you informed them, this is clearly their error.

Especially considering that you will have the one stupid pre req that you are missing completed before you ever set foot on their campus.

i think u should talk to someone of caliber
only those people can make decisions, rather than calling them and those front desk people are really "go by the book" kinda people who say "u see what u see"
go meet them in person and say
"RAWR ! U DARE DEFY VULCAN?"
