Acceptance Chances...Por Favor...

Hola, people. Yep, two weeks left until the email decision. So, when I read that, I realized that I had never gotten my stats evaluated by anyone, and so, I'm posting them right for my fellow CCers' opinions. Oh, and I'm aware I might be somewhat below the Harvard average, but I've got nice essays, strong reccs, and whatever else--yeah all these things are relative but whatever, haha. Thank you.

SAT: 1410 (690M, 720V)
SAT II: 750-Math IIC, 720-Writing, 640-Physics
GPA: 3.4UW (meh, I have a nice upward trend; my 9th and 10th were lame)
Ethnicity: Indian (as in from India, not native American, heh :P)
Residency: Caracas, Venezuela (Latin America! Wahoo!!)
Gender: Male
Languages I Speak: English, Hindi, Punjabi and Spanish.

ahhh

what about your ecs?

ECs? Em... I guess I'll just write them down:

National Honor Society (Treasurer)
Math Club (Founder/President)
Acted in Theatrical Productions of Grease, WORKING and The Bad Seed
Technical Theater
South American Model United Nations (Did it Thrice-Delegate of Disarmament every time!)
Romanian Digital Graphic Design Competition-Infomatrix
Orphanage Support Group in Caracas, Venezuela
Internship with School Tech Team
Personal Tutor for Kids

I think that's it... I can't really think of any more, significant ones.

Hey, supernal_being, are you Romanian?

Your SATs are a little on the low side.

You look good, but it's hard to say for anyone.

Honestly you are not in or out. I have seen more qualified kids with better SAT's, GPA and EC's get rejected. If your essays are amazing then that could be all the difference. Your linguistic skills might make you stand out.

Wus up, chamos y chamas?

Romanian? Haha, nah. That would be cool, though. I'm Indian. Yep, another one of those peeps. And yeah, you're all right--there have been much better qualified people than me who have gotten rejected, and you're right about the fact that my stats are much lower than the average acceptee. But, hey, I've got enourmous faith in the Universe. Academically, things have been looking up for me for the past two years. So, I have no idea. And, yeah I applied to Harvard, but I've applied to other places as well, which are probably more appealing for a Liberal Arts person like me. I applied to Vassar, Macalester, Bates, Colgate, Trinity University and a few others. Cool stuff, no? Heh. Oh, and answering your question about essays, I think they're pretty nice, but then again I have no idea. If anyone wants to see what I've written for my Harvard essays and essays in general, you can post your email address and I can send them to you. And I somehow have my math teacher's reccomendation, heh, so if anyone would like to see that, I can scan it to you guys. Other than that, gracias, and any other feedback would be cool. Ciao!

..........Huevon?

I'd say you have about a 1 in 10 shot.

Ah, okay, dude. Hm... otros opiniones? But, 1/10 looks like about my chances, but I don't know whether this works in my favor or not, but from my school-and all other schools in the city-I am the only one who applied. So, yeah.

Look, you have 10 days. Right now, we're all in the same boat, and we're in no position to advise you on the likelihood of your acceptance.

Firstly, good Sir Net Shark, I advice you to "chillax." Secondly, WOW people are much nicer in other forums, especially Cornell's forum, than in the Harvard forum. I suppose that says a decent amount about how people will be at Harvard. To be quite honest, if I do get in, that will be deciding factor on whether I want to go to Harvard or some really nice, laid-back LAC (i.e. Vassar). Thirdly, I asked people about their opinions regarding my admission chances, not to voice their opinions on what everyone else's situation is. So, once again, I'd advice you to "chillax," my good man.

I don't need to chillax, se

What do you do in Venezuela supernal? I mean, since you are Indian, and not Venezuelan. Are you in Caracas?

By the way, you sound way too hyped up. Lay off the meth :)
