Im out of state from NY, i have a 3.0 as a gpa, varsity sports, i have a decent amount of volunteer work, i have had many jobs, i started my own business, my SAT was a 1210 for reading and math, ACT was 24. i know my gpa is low but im curious if my extra avctivites and SAT will make this possible, South Carolina is my first choice

It’s definitely worth applying. The OOS average SAT was 1242 last year and the overall ACT was 27, so you would be on the low end for test scores and GPAs. Definitely focus on your personal statement and impress how much you want to go to USC. Have you thought about applying early decision?

i wasnt sure if i would have any advantage? When i had visited and spoken to the admissions office they didn’t seem to think it would help my chances

Applying early is always better than applying late.

Also, if you end up going to USC, your application date determines what your housing choice is. The earlier you apply, the earlier you are in the queue for housing. If you wait until the deadline (December 1), then you’re likely to end up somewhere you would rather not live.
