Acceptance Day

My husband and 12yr old will be there for the Acceptance Day Parade. Any tips? Where to stand? Can MissMuff skip lunch at Mitch’s and have a picnic?

Just try and find a place in the bleachers is all I can say! The most your H and D will have with muff is 1-2 hours after the parade, be warned! I'm sad I can't be at the parade, I'm hoping no one requests me for their boards!

You can sit near or in front of their squadron. You will get a small map when you get there . It will show where each flight will line up. We got there early last year but it wasn't to bad .Not like parent's weekend will be for the parade. Pack your lunch and enjoy the time with your D. We will be there again too. Daughter #2 going through it. It's very exciting to see them plus meet all their new friends.!!!!

What time did you get there, GoNavy? Did you have to enter through the North or South gate? obtain parking passes in advance?
Will we be able to give her a bag of "stuff" and will she have time to run it to her room?

And Hornetguy - there would be 20 kids asking for you, it's probably better that you aren't there!

lol, I think I had 3 or 4 last year and I felt bad making the last person have to wait without any boards till I got there!

Momofmuff, I was wondering the same thing about if it was possible to give my son a bag of stuff...
Hornetguy, I am sorry you won't be there for me to meet you, I would have liked to thank you in person for the great source of comfort you have been to this worrying mother! :)

Momofmuff- we got there early like at 8 but we were not sure of the number of parents that would come. It wasn't bad at all plenty of room to sit. As for a package we only brought a few things my daughter asked for in a letter. Our parents group had mailed a package before going. She wasn't aloud to have it till the day of AD. But some squadrons let kids have them early just depends on the squadron. You find that out all year long it is up to each squadron what they get and when. We did walk with her to her room after the parade to see it and to put her stuff away. We didnt pack any food bc we really didnt know. But now we do. So we went to get food over at the commissary but it was not very enjoyable to rushed so be sure to pack your cooler. I will this year. We entered through the south gate last year but they have changed everything so unless you have a military ID I believe you need to use the North gate. Hope this helps!! Where are you in California. We are in SOCAL!!

Hornetguy - I second that emotion. Mary's muddy, bespectacled, blue toothed photo is just priceless! It has made everyone in our family laugh at our girlie girl, and reassured us that she was surviving after all.

GoNavy-I grew up here in San Diego(Navy roots). We currently live in the East County. Thanks for the input. I'll plan accordingly, then my husband will leave everything in the hotel room and have to wing it anyway ;)
