My daughter applied late but has not heard anything yet. Should I call or wait a little longer?
@SoCaliforniaMom i applied EA and got deferred, had my transcript sent in 2 weeks ago and got in on friday… when did your D apply? and when did everything on the application checklist
Did she apply late for early action or regular? If she applied rd then you most likely won’t hear back until late march or the beginning of April. It took 2 months for me to hear back and I applied in November. CU seems to take a while with their review process. @socaliforniamom
Hi! I applied to Boulder RD and didn’t even think to check my portal until I got my scholarship info last night, so I’ve been accepted, but I have no idea when. Did you get letters in the mail/if so, how long after you were accepted? I’m waiting on notification about the honors college, which I’m assuming I’ll get based on my scholarship, but I didn’t see anything about it on the website. Thanks!
@amottmers My portal updated last week from estimated FA to actual FA offer, have you heard?
Just putting information here for other applicants:

Received $25k Chancellor’s Scholarship
Accepted into College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program (Letter states some 15 people get accepted every year)
The primary reason I’m unlikely to attend CU Boulder is the humongous cost. The scholarship helps to an extent, but attending would put a huge financial burden on my family.
Applied RD at the beginning of December and just got into CAS, but not into engineering. 3.5 GPA and 29 ACT, OOS
My S17 just got his acceptance for Boulder. (GPA 3.2 UW, 1520 SAT, OOS) He applied for CAS CS…(Didn’t try for Engineering) We couldn’t find anywhere on his portal that said anything about major. Took him hunting around just to find the decision page on the portal.
Anyone know if it’s normal to accept Arts & Science students into a major? Or does this mean he got accepted to undeclared. Or will he hear more details in the future? Or were we just blind and didn’t she something that was right in front of our faces.
BTW for those interested… he only applied a few days before the Jan 15th deadline.
Accepted Open Option in CAS! GPA 3.49 UW, 1320 SAT, 29 ACT, OOS. Applied RD on Jan 15
@goldenhobbes What is Open Option? Is it possible the reason my son didn’t see a major because that’s how he was accepted?
@curiositycat333 open option is what Boulder calls undeclared and is what I applied for. I’m not sure but this is how my acceptance reads: “Congratulations! You have been admitted to the to the College Arts & Sciences UGRD as a/n A&S - Open Option major for the Fall 2017 term.”
I applied on 12/20 and just got my acceptance today! I’m in-state with a 3.75UW/4.55W GPA and 32 ACT, and received an Esteemed Scholars award. U of Arizona was my safety (in-state as well), but it’s nice to know that Boulder is an option, too. It’s a lovely school.
@goldenhobbes I wonder if my son didn’t find that page. He had to dig down several layers in the portal.
@curiositycat333 really? My acceptance is on the welcome page and is the first thing I see when I sign in.
Maybe he was just blind. I’ll get him to look at again. He got the formal acceptance letter and it’s the same. Welcome to Arts & Sciences. Nothing at all about major.
How do i access the checklist if I am missing something?
Is there a thread somewhere on the PLC (Presidents Leadership Class) and what the interviews might be like or about?
6250 yr chancellors + offers for a whole lotta loans…thats the financial package.
is this school worth it?
@rmarczak are you asking about the financial aid checklist?
When you log into your portal click the finances header and then in second section there is a header “Check Your To Do List”
I believe before I was accepted the admissions to do link was right on the front page
Just got accepted! Yay
Low stats but great essays.
