Acceptance decisions

Just got rejected - but got accepted at UCSB and UCD - go figure.....

I just got rejected as well...

I was rejected.

But I got into Davis. So I'm good :)

I got rejected from my backup - ha!

sad times...

i didn't get accepted either.
darn...

asdfoiasdfjoasdif.
i wonder if ill get in under the summer program...

Sounds like today was rejection day. Good news is at least you know the answer and you don't have to hang in limbo as some schools make you do (like UCI!). Good luck all.

Accepted!!! (I found out two weeks ago but I've just been too lazy to post)

Major: City & Regional Planning
Cal Poly 9-11 GPA: 3.59
SAT: 1810

I think I've read it somewhere, but I can't find it.

Does anyone know how many applicants there were and how many spaces for incoming freshmen?

Over 35,000 applicants and 3500-4000 admitted.

an acceptance rate of 11%? That seems to low to be true...

It seems more likely that there are only 3,500 seats, or that this is a total for a certain department, not the whole school. As much as I know SLO is a decent school, there is no way its acceptance rate is lower than Johns Hopkins and on par with Harvard's.

yeah i think the total number of admits is a bit more than that because i know the college of engineering itself accepts nearly 4,000 and overall they have anywhere from 11,000-15,000 admits so the percentage isn't too bad...but it's still competitive and I'm lucky to have gotten in this year. yay!

I got rejected with a 2000 800 math 550 reading 650 writing sat and a 3.6 gpa at one of the hardest schools in the nation to get good grades

I probly got rejcted becasue I went tot hat **** ass school and they see so many people get in from that school
you know

it hurts because some people go to easy schools and dont do **** and get a 4.o or watever like some friends of mine I know. I

From Cal Poly's website:

"Applications: 28,849 (Fall 2005)
Enrolled: 3,420 first time freshmen (fall 2005)
898 transfer (Fall 2005)"

http://www.calpolynews.calpoly.edu/quickfacts.html

And on the digital view book under the student profile it says for Fall 2006 that 26,865 applied and 3,677 enrolled. It does say though that 11,726 were selected, so the 3500-4000 is an estimate for the students enrolled.

So we can safely say that the acceptance rate is more like 40%? Wow, thats the same as UCSD, I didn't know it was THAT hard to get into SLO, and the matriculation figures are pretty substantial too, so I guess it's a target school for a lot of people.

Accepted to the Business School for Business Economics

SAT: 1810 (670M, 590CR, 550W)
SATII: 640M, 590 USH
GPA: 4.2

Well, another year has gone by and here were are waiting for admission decisions again. Has anyone received a regular decision yet? If so when and what is your major and what were your stats? It looks like decisions are behind last year.

Everyone on this site and everyone i know have not hear a thing yet, but looking at last year we should start to hear in the next couple of days. i'm applying for mechanical engineering w/ a 1850 sat, 28 act, 4.2 gpa, good amount of awards, and lots of ec's. what about you? best of luck to everyone.

I am also applying for ME with a 1990 sat and 4.47 gpa.

I just got into GA Tech yesterday and hoping I get into cal poly too.

schnebar is cal poly your top choice?, b/c with grades like that you could go to top colleges
