I know where you go to school Titan10 lol. I live in Toledo too. Congrats!! T-town represent!

@scholar…Ahh what a coincidence you live in the same county as me. I live in Boynton, where you at, and where do you go to H.S.?

Where you at jamaica?

To those waitlisted:

I’m currently a freshman at Notre Dame and was also a waitlisted candidate. I’ll never forget receiving that phone call on May 22, 5:46 PM informing me I was admitted. If I could give you guys any bit of advice, it’s this: keep trying! Immediately email your admissions representative informing him/her that you’re still VERY interested, get teachers to write letters of recommendation on your behalf, etc. My advisor actually called my rep to discuss how badly I still wanted to attend. A huge factor in whom ND selects actually comes from how much they hear from him or her. It’ll be worth it; ND is truly a place like no other.

If any of you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I’m not the most devoted CC’er (first time being on this site since this time last year), but I’ll keep tabs during the next few days since ND decisions are being posted.

Congrats to all those who got in, and good luck to all of those still trying!

Still nothing in CT. I almost fainted at the mailbox because there was no big envelope, but then looked through a bit and saw there was nothing from ND and felt a bit better. Now I just have to suffer through tomorrow and school on Monday. It’s going to be painful!

Got acceptance letter in Omaha, NE today.

Sorry GoldenDomer…I meant to reply to EngLT20 ( who should have received his/her letter, because I am in Illinois and received mine )…I am in Gurnee, IL

reply to Jamaica. I live in the south suburbs of Chicago and mail came at 2:00 and nothing from Notre Dame. Northwestern letter came and I was wait listed but already knew that from e-mail. I will have to wait until Monday.

Wait-listed!!

4.2 GPA, 33 ACT, 750 SAT subject tests, year of leadership and Varsity sports, not a legacy .

@EngLT20…LOL…we are the complete opposites…I got accepted into Northwestern, but did not receive my letter yet (notified by email), even though they are a stone throw away from me, but you received your letter in southern IL. Go figure.

rejected in chicago today. will send a volley cheer on high somewhere else. good luck to all.

It’s possible to get in to ND even if you’re waitlisted at a school like BC. I was waitlisted at the College of the Holy Cross and still got into ND. I think it was because on the ND-specific parts of the app I demonstrated how passionate I was about ND and showed that I really understood the university’s mission.

Good luck everyone!

I heard internationals received emails with their decisions, yet I still havent heard anything. Is someone in the same position as me or should I be worried?

Well, I didn’t get any news today in the mail from Notre Dame.
I guess and hope it will be Monday. But, after looking at the
stats of 2009’s class…Average ACT 32-34 again, I am not
very hopeful…oh well, God does grant miracles sometimes…
This was a reach for me, so I guess what is supposed to happen will
happen. Good luck for everybody for Monday!!!

france10: check out the stats of the waitlisted and rejected students for this year’s pool on the Decisions thread

My Daughter received an acceptance letter today… in Kansas

My daughter’s friend got a rejection letter in the mail yesterday (Sat.) and she lives in D.C. My daughter is still waiting and we are in Virginia.

why is ND accepting so many international students?how many do they usually accept?

I heard that ND is admitting approximately 75 intl students this year.

International applicants like us do not have many information resources. We don’t know alumnis, neither do we have counselors who tells us what to do.

Basically, I googled out the whole application process myself. cc is a major forum so it’s common to see intls discuss here - again this is our main resource for most info. so maybe this is why you’ve got the impression that ND is accepting lots of intls.

^I completely agree - from what I have experienced on these pages, it seems like a lot of internationals use this site to become familiar with the admissions process at colleges so it appears like a lot of internationals are getting accepted even though there are simply a lot more internationals on CC than is proportional to the application pool.

that would make sense
