Hey I was just wondering (especially from those accepted/attending NU) what the typical acceptance envelope looks like? I know everyone says it's "big" but does anyone know if this is the truth? What answer should we expect based on the size of the envelope? I'm only asking because I'll be travelling when my letter comes, and our housekeeper doesn't speak English.

It's a big white envelope with purple writing down the side of it, relatively thick (there's a folder inside of it)

Hey, it says that you can view your decision online.

I have a question though, does anyone know whether the letters are mailed on the 15th of December or whether we receive them on the 15th?

Don't know. You should find out quicker online vs. mail

im pretty sure we receive the mail by the 15th, and that the decisions will be online maybe even as early as the 9th or 10th. if you look at older threads, last year's ED results were in by the 10th...

how do you look at last year's threads? i went far back into the forum but there aren't any from last year..?

Search early decision 2005, or other such topics.

When i spoke to the admissions office last week they said there was a good chance that they were not going to post the decisions online, only mail

Did they give a reason? That doesn't seem very fair...especially since it's on the website that you can check your admissions decision online...

@prospective88, i doubt that they're not putting decisions online-i got mine online last year. unless you're talking ed, then i have no idea.

I'm not sure if they changed what it says on the applicant status page or if we just didn't read it throughly before. But it says:
View your admission decision. (Available once decision letters have been mailed.)
So what does this mean?

looks like once all the letters are out, you can view your decision online.
