I applied to Pitt as a freshman applicant, and got accepted into the Johnstown campus. I wanted to get into the Pittsburgh campus, but I didn’t get in. Does this mean that I have no chance of getting into the Pittsburgh campus?
If they did not request to see your midyear grades, it is likely you were denied Main admission and given your second choice: Johnstown. It is possible to transfer to Main after a year at Johnstown if your grades are strong.
@12345college, Your acceptance to Pitt-Johnstown does mean that you are not admitted to the Pittsburgh campus for your freshman year. I would encourage you to learn more about Pitt-Johnstown and all that they have to offer: upj.pitt.edu.
It is possible for you to transfer to the Pittsburgh Campus later down the road as well. If you contact the admissions office at Pitt-Johnstown they can give you more information about the opportunities available at their campus.

Applied to CBA at main campus. Got a letter of acceptance for pitt bradford. I will not go to UPB. called pitt and asked what my options were. They pulled my application and said my only problem was my sat score. Need less than 100 points. She said I could forward the app to college of arts and sciences. So I did that and signed up to take sat again. Any idea how long it would take to hear from Dietrich? Original application was sent beginning of sept. Just don’t want to wait another few months to hear back again.
@Reit23, It should take 3-5 weeks for the application to be reviewed again. If we know you are retaking the SAT and the Admissions Committee decides it would be helpful to them to have that information before making a decision, they may wait for your updated scores. If that is the case, they will let you know.
Best of luck!

If you put the school code for Pitt right on the SAT booklet when you retake, they will automatically get your SAT score when available and for free.
