How hard is it to get into the animal science major? Both my DDs are looking at SLO neither has a SAT score yet as they haven’t started their Junior year but their 9th and 10th grade GPAs are 3.8 and 3.5 unweighted. (no APs or honors available at their HS for frosh and sophs ) I know its too early for chances I was just curious if anyone knew how impacted that major was.

As a rule, the majors in the college of agriculture are easier to get into than other majors from the other colleges (science, business, engineering, liberal arts, arch). I'm not sure exactly how impacted animal science is, but it is one of cal poly's best-known majors, so maybe it is harder to get into than the other ag majors. I can say that I knew many animal science majors at SLO, and that quite a few of them got into fantastic vet schools.

We are touring the campus in November. I know that outside of UCD, SLO traditionally sends more of their grads to UCD vet than any other campus. Aprreciate the info.
