In just 18 days, regular decision applicants (including me) will face either an acceptance or rejection letter in our inbox. Could any early decision applicants post what an acceptance letter and rejection letter looks like for all of us curious RDers? Thanks so much :)

don’t you want it to be a surprise?? I only want to know what the rejection says so I know what to expect…but if it’s an acceptance, I want it to be a surprise!! good luck anxioussenior!

@lorraine: Good luck to you too. I guess the big surprise for me will be what the decision is, so I guess I kind of want to prepare myself for either decision by reading the letter in advance. Only 18 days!!! Good luck to all applicants!

Here, I’ll post mine (personal info redacted )

On behalf of the admissions committee, it is my honor and privilege to share with you that you have been admitted to the Stern School of Business at New York University. Congratulations! I could not be more excited to welcome you to NYU.

Albert Gallatin, Treasury Secretary to U.S. Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, founded NYU in 1831. NYU has since grown to become the largest private university in America and now 179 years later, I have the pleasure of welcoming you to one of the most influential institutions in the world.

As an Early Decision candidate, we expect that you will enroll at NYU, providing you are financially able to do so. Instructions for confirming your enrollment online by January 15 are included below. You will need your NYU University ID number, which is [redacted] and your NetID, which is [redacted]. After you confirm your enrollment, it will be your ethical obligation to withdraw any applications you may have previously submitted and to not file any additional college or university applications.

Please know that we take your Early Decision agreement filed with your application very seriously and we do expect that you will enroll at NYU, but if finances prevent you from enrolling, please be in touch with me directly before your enrollment confirmation deadline, which is January 15.

GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS! Hope to see you all on Manhattan in August!

When my D was accepted to Tisch last year RD, the email came from NYU and made no mention of the specific school, so don’t necessarily think that the ED letter is what it will be.

Thanks so much Justspice.

A few years ago our daughter received an RD postcard saying the thick acceptance envelope was on it’s way.

wait how is it 18 days? when exactly are the results coming out?

I think results are already coming out Isn’t it rolling now?

The standard is, if you see a HUGE envelope in your mailbox. It means you were accepted to a school.

RD applicants should expect to hear around 4/1, unless NYU accepts you for the Liberal Studies Program (that is rolling admission right now through end of March). Additionally, the only ones hearing now are scholarship recipients (students who are considered highly attractive to NYU).

i already got my RD decision. accepted LSP =]

@zoidberg93,

How did you receive your acceptance, letter or email? if letter where do you live? Also, did you get a scholarship or some distinction that would make them send out an advanced acceptance or are you the the first in the first wave of acceptances?

LSP had heard for the past about 2 weeks, because LSP applicants don’t get into their first choice school, they find out early and/or through the end of March. A few people who got very large scholarships have heard just this past week. So, only LSP and scholarship applicants (from what I’ve seen mostly Dean’s Scholarships) have heard.

Also, MLK Scholars should all have heard because they have an event they are invited to in April. Two or three in this forum reported receiving MLK Scholarship for 2011-2012.
