What does an acceptance letter from Brown look like anyways? I’ve always wanted to know.

My RD letter in the spring of 05 looked like this:

Dear ______ (name):

I hope you are as pleased to receive this letter as I am to send it to you. You have been admitted to the 242nd class to enter The College of Brown University. The Board of Admissions has selected from nearly 17,000 applicants those men and women who, as members of the Class of 2009, will give The College what promises to be the strongest class ever. You will be one of 1,440 freshmen who individually and collectively display a remarkable diversity of strengths and interests. Each of you was chosen not only for what we believe you can contribute to our academic community, but also for what you will gain from the wonderful opportunities that distinguish undergraduate education at Brown.

We hope that your enthusiasm for Brown will reciprocate our interest in you. Come and see us. [description of ADOCH, A Day on College Hill, Brown's admitted students day]

We shall expect that in June you will have maintained a record of the same general quality as that which has brought this letter to you. If you have any questions between now and your matriculation, do not hesitate to ask us.

On behalf of the faculty and President Ruth Simmons, please accept my congratulations on your admission. I look forward to welcoming you to Brown next fall!

Sincerely,

Michael Goldberger
Director of Admission

damn, seeing this made me want to see how my waitlist acceptance letter differed from this one, but it looks like i didnt save it!!! I cant believe i didn't keep it.

You were accepted off the waitlist for this year?

last year, seeing ilovebrown's 2009 acceptance prompted me to look for mine, especially since no one was accepted off the list this year.
