Acceptance Letter

I applied to the University of Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. I see that many people have already received their letters. How long does it usually take for the university to respond? Thanks

My son submitted his app 2nd week of September (do not remember the exact date), got acceptance letter on October 10 and full merit scholarship letter on October 28. Interesting enough, his online application status is still not updated :-).

Good luck to you…

My friends and I all received our acceptances one week after our application was complete.

You should get your letter soon. Still, you should make sure that it says your status is “complete”.

I submitted my actual application in July. I got my school to submit the transcript in early October (around the 5th).
I didn’t find out until mid November. I think I was just a borderline applicant.

You might want to check and make sure they’ve received your transcripts and test scores.

S submitted app first week of september. Was told they were waiting for his september 12 ACT score (which, frustratingly, didn’t come out until october 21). Once they saw his ACT score rose by 3 points (from 26 to 29), he got an acceptance 2 days later.

upitt’s site said mine was completed on oct 25; i was accepted on the 14th and received my honors college letters about 5-6 days later.

My son’s application was shown complete on Nov. 13. We received the acceptance package today.

My transcript was sent a little while ago, but the site does say they didn’t get it yet. Think I should call in see if that is the case?

Yes, absolutely. Look up the phone number for the admissions person assigned to you (by the first letter of your last name). They will quickly and easily be able to tell you the status of your admission materials.
