Laurennicole, I applied for social work too, and was told by my admissions counselor that decisions should be finalized by Friday. I know this because I emailed him an update for my application, and he sent a reply today saying so.

Thanks musicalmichael!!! I put it as my second choice though, idk if that effects the decision or not. Guess it depends on whether I made it for liberal arts or not.

@Lauren, I wasn’t aware that some rejections had already gone out. I thought they had only sent out acceptances. And by rejections, I assume you mean offers to the CAP program? It was my understanding that students weren’t actually rejected but were offered CAP instead of admission. Does anyone know if that’s correct?

My bad, that’s what I meant. I know some people who’ve been CAPed They were all COFA, non top 9% people though. I have actually never heard of anyone getting flat out rejected from UT, unless they were OOS/international. IDK for sure if they offer CAP to all TX residents or not, I think they do but I’m not sure.

My understanding is that they do not reject any Texas resident students. They will offer CAP, but depends on grades/scores as to which campuses the students can choose from.

i am still waiting, i am an homeschooled students so of course there is no ranking…
I will call admissions today or tomorrow because I was told I would hear if I was accepted or CAPed by Mid-Feburary.

omg I’m sooooo nervous. Applied to natural sciences (and geosciences as my 2nd choice.) does anyone know if we will FOR SURE know by the end of Feb? D: has anyone gotten CNS decision??

@taylor4friends- I posted on another thread that my older homeschooled son was admitted several years ago. The homeschool admissions counselors look at your scores and grades and come up with an idea of what your rank would be if you were in a ranking school.
My younger homeschooled son who is applying this year has not yet heard. He applied to geosciences.

I just called the admissions office and they said that all decisions will be made by March 1st. But what are all these rumors saying it will be this week?

@TexRose. Haven’t heard from CNS yet, OOS Actuarial Science Major and I applied in November. I’m nervous I wont get in due to my class rank and how strongly into consideration UT takes rank, but I’m hoping for some luck since UT is my first choice!

My son hasn’t heard yet. He is OOS and we have a visit planed for 2/22. I hope we find out by then, because I don’t think I want to pay to visit unless we know . . .
Do you think decisions have been made and they are being sent out slowly or are they still in decision making mode?

We are also OOS and cancelled our tours on 2/20. We are visiting UFlorida instead. They don’t make this easy, do they? I was looking to reschedule for March, but we want to take the Communications tour and they offer so few days. Also, they do not offer that tour and the OOS info session on the same day EVER! We wanted to fly in on 2/19 from NJ, fly out to Orlando on 2/21, and fly home on 2/23. My D was accepted at UF and they bent over backwards to accomodate us at the Journalism and Mass Comm School.

13 students applied from our high school and not a single one has heard yet. When my D inquired on 2/7, the admissions counselor wrote, " Unfortunately, I don’t have any other information at this time regarding when our decisions will come out. I know that makes it difficult to make a decision on whether to take a trip to Austin or not, and I’m sorry that I don’t have any additional information."

My D’s camp friend from NY heard back in October that she was admitted to McCombs. We have been checking the website all day every day since.
