This is probably going to seem like a strange question but does anyone know how Marist does their letters? Is it a big envelope if it is a yes and a small envelope if it is a no?

I’d love to know the answer to your question. Let’s hope someone who knows the answer shares a response. We’re hustling to the mailbox everyday.

Early action letters aren’t sent out until January 31st but I’d like to mentally prepare myself so when I see the letter I know what to expect. So hopefully someone who knows will fill us in.

D is waiting for the same EA reply too and it would be nice to know what to expect. This is the only school she has applied to that doesn’t offer decisions online. I recall reading somewhere that some decisions may come out within the week just prior to the 31st so you may not have to wait until that day, although I could be wrong. Don’t remember where I read that.

Ohhhh…D also waiting for EA answer. We thought all the EA letters were being sent out by December 31st. January 31st makes more sense. Good luck everyone. Please post when you get your letters.

Acceptances from Marist come in a large envelope.

They come in a large envelope. When you open them they’re in a large red folder that says “Congratulations on your acceptance”

They don’t notify online, but they do tweet!
When we were waiting for ED last month they tweeted on Dec. 15 that they had mailed half that day, and would mail half the next.
So I suggest checking their twitter as it gets closer to Jan. 31.

"Although Marist is closed today…the admission staff continues to read Early Action files virtually. About 3/4 of the EA admits are in…

…(Cont.)…of course the last 1/4 of the EA admits are the hardest. Reading every essay/rec/resume. A TON of great kids have applied"

I sure hope this doesn’t mean they will miss the 1/31 deadline for notification:

The latest from Marist Twitter:

“Many HS students are asking about EA decisions. We will tweet when they are mailed, but I assure you it is NOT imminent. #Jan31”

Like the rest, awaiting Marist. S. has heard back from all other EA’s but Marist and it is a top 3 on his list.
Do they send notice of merit aid if accepted?
Does anyone have Marist as first choice school?
If so, what is your attraction and what are you dislikes (if any)

my D applied to Marist last year and her merit award came with the EA notification

Sportsman29, my son was accepted ED for computer science, received the big white envelope Dec. 16
Marist was always his first choice because of the campus technology. They also have a variety of clubs he’s interested in - mens chorus and theater mostly.

So excited to hear back soon

letters go out a week from today gahhhh so nerve racking!

In the past few years have had 2 children apply EA to Marist…they send the letters out when they say they do And now waiting for number 3 to hopefully get in!!!

So hopefully they will get their letters by Jan 31st!!!

Just saw on Twitter from the Admissions Office that they have received a record 10,000 applicants (and counting) for a mere 970 Freshman Spots.

yeah i saw that too! didn’t seem too encouraging, but i’ll hope for the best

that didn’t sound too encouraging at all when I saw that but I thought that was weird because at their information sessions they said they accepted like 1,200 not 970

I read this on twitter today~ “shooting to mail Monday. I will tweet when we hand over to Post Office!” ~ So next week is the week :)
