Acceptance letters.

I've asked a lot of students about when they received their acceptances and they have all said February or March. But FIT says that everyone will hear around April 1? Everyone I've talked to has said that sounds extremely late and that they don't know anyone who heard in April.

I keep getting my hopes up and then back down because everyone will say that everyone will be hearing soon and then FIT says they won't.

I would think that an admissions office, when faced with giving a date to prospective students, will always errr on the side of caution and give the latest possible date. This way, they will not be bombarded with calls when someone doesn’t hear prior to that date. In my opinion, I think April 1st is the latest date and I too know of students last year that heard anywhere from end of January all the way through to the April 1st date. My only hope is that they send out the decsions in the order they were received, since my daughter had hers in very early and this waiting is killing her.

Yeah that is what I thought, but then if anyone asks if people hear at different times, they pretty much say, EVERYONE WILL HEAR APRIL 1. I understand the reasoning though, I guess it is much easier to just say everyone will hear around then.

I hope it works like that too. Or maybe they’d lump it together like before people before this date and people before this date or something. I did just get an email saying they’re STILL accepting peoples supplementals, so I’d think they’re must be some kind of priority response type thing.

My daughter received an email today as well. Something about checking her address to make sure it is correct for when they send regular mail notifications on… you guessed it, April 1st. In any event, let’s take this as a sign that they are getting close to doing the actual mailing.

Do they send the decision letter by e-mail also?

Only by mail.
Email would be convenient. Getting the letter will be extra exciting though.

So we can only know the result by mails? Or we can also check our status on *****?
Since I am an international student, does that mean i prolly have to wait longer? :-0

Yep, just by mail.
Your letter will probably take longer to get to you because you’re international.

That’s too long!!! but ok…better not get lost

Has anyone heard of any decision letters being received yet? My daughter hasn’t heard a word.

As far as I know, no one has been accepted yet.
What I am hearing is that they used to do rolling admissions, which is why I’ve had a lot of people who already attend FIT telling me they heard in February or March.

But this year they’ve switched and they no longer have rolling admissions, which means everyone actually will be hearing right around April 1. :frowning: Still seems so far away.

It certainly does! Especially since other schools are already having admitted student days, limited space in popular/newer dorm, and even allowing for Fall registration. But since we are not in the position to be throwing away money on deposits just to be safe, we’ll have to sit tight until April 1st (did they have to pick April Fools Day?)

Please post if you hear of any decision letters received…

I was on FIT’s facebook today and it said that they will start mailing acceptance letters for fall 2011 students this week! It said to look for letters starting this week until April 1. Good luck everyone :)

I read that too! I am so excited. The sooner the better. I’m on the east coast so it shouldn’t take too long to get here.

I’m on the east coast too! Hope we get in :)

They took that off of the facebook page. Hopefully it is still true!

I really hope it’s true, it has been such a long wait since November and it is the last school my daughter is waiting for.

I was just about to call the school to ask when decisions would be mailed when I decided to check these forums. Thanks for posting.

Hope everyone receives good news!!! Fingers crossed…

Nothing in the mail today : (

There are a couple of people on the FIT Facebook page who have received acceptances either yesterday or today. Not sure where they are locatd or what majors. Has anyone here heard anything yet?

hey everyone. I just received my acceptance letter today and it said that i was in a small group that found out early, but that i wont get my packet until april 1st. So i assume that some people are hearing back this week or April 1st. Did anyone also hear back ?
