I got in last year with a 26 on the ACT and only a 1300 on SAT. PLEASE DON'T WRITE ME TO ASK ME FOR MY STATS. I am just telling you guys that the numbers aren't all that important. Don't compare yourself to each other.

I've heard that Rice is willing to reject valedictorians with near perfect SATs if the person is just a run-of-the-mill student. So yeah, I'm sure there is not even safety in high numbers here.

A 1300 is not bad though. Did you even submit your ACT scores? I actually received an 1100 SAT (on the old one) because I had the flu that day. I just pray that they only consider my ACT scores and don't even look at the SAT I.

Dude, look- it probably doesn't matter. You have decent over all stats, you have the desire, you have the benefit of being from Alaska. Chill. You'll be fine.

Meh. I don't know why, but earlier today, I just stopped worrying about it all. SAT scores don't matter. Same with the GPA I have. After all, it's to late to worry.
"If you can fix it, why worry. If you can't fix it, why worry?"

Did anyone apply to the school of social sciences? Am I the only one on here that has (I applied ID however)?

rj1988 I like your philosophy! Because at this point we have all tried our hardest and if it doesn't work out there are still a ton of great schools out there. Heck I could flunk out this year and still get my full ride scholarship to University of Alaska.

oh shoot...sry everybody...i thought humanities incorporated the social science...
i went for social science (psych) hehe...sry for the mixup

GAHHHHH!!! i recieved a big envelope from rice....about applying for financial aid... i'm being played with :(:(

Still haven't gotten that envelope yet. At this point I would be glad to get anything from Rice.
Just think Houstonians some of you may find out as early as tomorrow!!

Nothing from Rice in today's mail. :(

I got my acceptance letter today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ah, this is the best day of my life

congrats
i hope i get one of those too....:(

Get used to stalking the mailman. I remember waiting for my acceptance letter from multiple universities. Once I got into Rice I thought that I would be able to leave the mailman in peace. Sad to say it continues (just wait until college assignments are imminent, it makes waiting for an acceptance seem like childs play).

Congrats Josh! and to those of you who will be receiving your letters in the next few days.

i would stalk him/her, but we have like..a foot of snow right now
