Acceptance Letters

Does anyone know what day the freshman acceptance letters came out last year? I know they give you a 2 week window but did they come towards the beginning or end of the window? I'm so nervous I seriously will be checking the mail every day.

They’re mailed during batches (as not to flood postal services); some people will get them towards the beginning and others towards the end.

so it follows no pattern at all? like west coast usually in the beginning, etc etc

no pattern.

No pattern even if you live near UW? I live near Portland…I’m hoping I’m one of the first waves…

All I know is UW sent out letters 3/15 or 3/16 last year so it seems like they’re pretty good about getting them postmarked by the 15th

No pattern. I live in a smaller city near UW and some of my friends got letters right away, some got rejections or waitlists in the middle, some got accepted at the very end of the month.

@speedsolver: a smaller city near UW? Maybe it’s just me but I think you have to drive super far before you find any small city near UW. To me North Seattle and South Seattle feel more like a suburb than Renton or Bellevue. Well, I guess Brier is small.

Oops, I mean Seattle in general. It’s ~15 minutes from UW during non-rush hour times though … not that bad of a drive.

No small town love for Kenmo or Shawline? :)

Don’t live there xD But I have friends there! So here’s some love? XD <3

when do the international students get their decisions?

@newlearner International students are supposed to be notified through email (and then followed up by postal mail) usually during the later part of the week of the 18th. so my best guess is around March 22nd :)

Nothing in today’s mail. Didn’t they send rejections out first last year?

no, it’s random

Ack. Okay. :)

One thing I did notice last year was that everyone I knew who was rejected or waitlisted got their letter at the end  they keep you waiting for all that time and then crush your dreams!

There were people last year that got rejection letters the first day acceptance letters went out. They are not necessarily at the end.

@MAnde13 Thanks!!

Just to get everyone a little excited, one of my friends got her acceptance yesterday

He got in!!!
