maybe they’re just taking their time to decide which scholarship to give you. don’t worry (:

haha overly optimistic. I had a 1920 SAT, 9 ap classes and a 4.2 gpa in the last 3 semesters, but my overall unweighted is only like 3.37…so…im not feeling it too much.

Boltz: It’s a great upward trend though. You can’t rule anything out :)

Anyway, some people got acceptances towards the end of March last year! Letters are still coming and nothing is final unless you appeal a decision and still admissions doesn’t budge.

Got accepted! Received letter today. I live in north California.

By the way, it didn’t say anything about my major on the acceptance letter. It just said I got accepted, but no reference to Biochemistry at all. Did this mean I was accepted to the college but not my major? Kind of confused here.

Unweighted GPA: 3.95
Weighted GPA: 4.3
SAT: 670/460/610 Math/CR/Writing
EC’s: A lot of volunteering at research centers, volunteering in general, others, etc.

The odds of successfully appealing are like 1-2%, but I think I will do it if I do get rejected. I think I deserve to be in based on how tough my high school is, my rigor of schedule, and performance on the SAT, but we shall see…

ComradeNF: If you are admitted to the major, you will receive an email or something from the advisors. Otherwise, you would be considered undeclared.

Boltz: True. A friend of mine successfully appealed a rejection before. If it ever comes to that, feel free to message me.

Well let’s hope it doesn’t haha thanks man, will do

@speedsolver: When does the e-mail come out?

ComradeNF: It depends on the department. I’d say early April or so, though. I’m not sure about biochem. If you don’t hear back (meaning you didn’t get direct admit), I suggest you contact the advisers and request to appeal. :)

Under Direct Admit: “Completion of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. All applicants have the right to petition and appeal the department’s admission decision.”

My S recieved his letter in the mail today. We live in the Inland Empire of Southern California.

GPA: 3.94
APs: 8
SAT: 1840
ACT: 28
ECs: many

FYI: he was denied entranced to the School of Music, so I guess his major is now undeclared

Daughter just received her letter of acceptance today.

Accepted
GPA(w): 3.95
SAT: 1940
Major: Biology

Really great essays

Accepted today

mblaurie, what is your gpa and sat?

Accepted today from so cal

1960 sat
29 act
4.2 w gpa/3.7 uw gpa

Cheered me up after my bracket got busted haha

Grrrrr. still waiting here. 1920 sat, somewhat around the average.

Oops I didn’t post my stats…
4.0 UW, 4.5 W, 2050 or 2080 sat I forgot which one was my super…lol.
Lots of ec’s and community service, strong essays

The wait is ****ing me off, I haven’t gotten any email yet (I’m an international applicant)

For those of you who were accepted, did you show interest in University of Washington in your essays or a commitment to attend Udub? I’ve heard of UC Davis waitlisting highly-qualified students for a fear that the students won’t actually choose Davis in the end. I didn’t mention Udub in my essays at all! Even though I’m qualified (3.67 uw GPA, 1980 SAT, Some ECs include: 4 years club volleyball, editor of the school newspaper, club officer, Ambassador for an epilepsy foundation, & my essays were about overcoming a hereditary disorder), will they not admit me b/c I didn’t show any interest? I know I should have…If only I could go back in time-well NO, scratch that- go forward in time so I can hopefully stop stressing already!

smallcitydreamer: I did not personalize any of my applications. I really like UW, but also like most of the schools that have accepted me. Still waiting on a few more and then I plan to spend time deciding which campus I believe will be the best fit for me. I think if you have a decent gpa and sat scores (you do) you will get into a good school. With the number of applicants the schools are reviewing (and I don’t envy the reviewers) I’m sure there is a bit of luck involved. Good luck to you during a very stressful process.
