So, I'm applying to 3 schools and I'm super anxious on hearing from them on if I got accepted or rejected. 2 of the schools i pretty much know I'm a shoe-in (considering on ones acceptance rate is like 70% and I'm their best applicant and the other one's interview went great and everyone seemed to love me. The school I'm worried about is the one I've been dreaming about for 2 years now. I'm worried how I would take rejection from it because I have attached myself to it. I'm wearing their sweat pants right now (EWS)

I have already sent all my stuff in so like many of you, I am waiting and waiting and waiting for march 10. I bought a calendar to mark off days and I even made one of those chain things where every day you take of a loop and the chain gets smaller as the day approaches.

I was wondering for those who have gotten rejection/accepting letters in previous years...is the envelope situation typical? Fat envelopes-accepted tiny lightweight envelopes-rejection. Also, what did you're admission letter say? I'm super nervous and I don't want to tell if I got in or not by the envelope. Also, I've heard from some people that they got emails with music and balloons and CONGRATULATIONS everywhere at midnight on march 9 if they got accepted. is that true?

If you are applying like me, are you going through the same thing as me? btw, this is like the coolest website eveerrrrrrrr! I've been looking around everywhere for people applying to boarding school so we can talk and relate.. you know things non-applicants dont care about at all and cant relate to.

I completley agree with everything you said emmers43 exept I only applied to one school. I have been dreaming about this school so long. I'm even wearing their boxer shorts (girl boxer shorts) like you. I think my interview went pretty good as well. I have no clue what I am going to do If I don't get in. What have people said about envelopes? My mom said I had to wait till she gets home from work so I want to be able to tell by the envelope. lol.

FROM our past experiences;
big 8x10 envelope=acceptance with loads of info. (FA included)
small envelope = a waitlist or rejection; a waitlist envelope culd be a litter thicker as it gives you info and a return postcard as to how to proceed if you wish to remain on the waitlist.

Emma sent me a balloon when I was accepted, with a bunch of confetti. It was pretty gigantic... I'm not sure if it was the norm, or if they still do it, but for all the other boarding schools that I've gotten into it's been the large envelope.

I love the balloon idea. NMH sent an e-mail which, when opened, played music from their "World Music Ensemble" and showed a collage of "congratulations" in many languages. It ended with a clip of a group of students cheering for you. The "fat" envelope contained the congratulatory letter, fa package, paperwork to be returned, and one of those drawstring "ditty bag" type backpacks with the school logo.
