Acceptance notification date?

^ should I still be fine tho?-and idk, i might change as well, but not sure…

You should be more than fine. What career choices are you considering right now?

I think your 3.78 is decent enough and your SAT scores add more weight and competitiveness.

well idk, depending on how my first year goes and etc-im gonna try to get into some science perhaps-maybe bio or chem or something, maybe onto medicine (I hope). But of course, this is only after I get accepted haha
what about you? Not to sound racist or anything, but from IndianJatt, can I assume you might be heading in the same direction?

My major is chemical engineering, is that impacted at all in any of the UCs, I know that computer science in UCSB is impacted but thats it. So does anyone know anything about this ? , thanks.

i know almost all bios at ucsd are impacted, ucd is impacted in bio, and someone else posted another one earlier. and pretty much most of the engineering majors at UCSB are impacted

Is it too late to switch majors? hahaha

I haven’t read the past posts so sorry if someone had already posted, but according to the uc davis twitter, facebook page, and ask ms sun, uc davis will be releasing freshman decisions on Tuesday march 23rd at 5pm

Chances please
My gpa is low but sat is good.
3.4 gpa
2090 sat
Subject tests were mediocre
A TON of extracurrics including 4 years key club, 2 of which I was vp, 3 years mock trial, 3 years cheerleading with one MVP award, 2 years swimming and one year tennis
My essays were probably about a 7 on a ten point scale, ten being the best

kma,
My GPA is super low. You need the UC GPA? I think I know it , but how do I make sure? People sometimes put their UC GPA or sometimes their weighted/unweighted.
--
I know my weighted and unweighted though.
3.7/3.4
So pretty low. --

SAT 1, the second time, 1840. So that’s kind of low too.

I’ve been in some clubs, VP and Prez of Environmental Club, got a school award for Mock Trial, one year of track and field.

650 in Literature,
590 in U.S. History -_-

So yeah I know I’m pretty much out haha :P

Stopaz: No one knows what the applicant pool looks like this year so it’s hard to say what your chances are. My daughter is hopeful with higher GPA but lower SAT’s than you. I heard that Davis accepts by Department so, depending on what major you declared, you may be in the running. What is your intended major?

gotaplay2 is right. If you chose engineering, it may be difficult (but I know some engineering majors in my own building whom I have no idea how they got into UCD) to get in, but usually for undeclared and biosci (everyone I ask is usually either a biosci or econ major) majors they’re a bit more lenient.
To all: GOOD LUCK!

whatthefriction-your uc gpa is pretty much your gpa thorough 10th and 11th-but you should only have a total of 8 AP grade points in there.
Youre almost the same as me, just a bit lower-hopefully we both hear good news on Tuesday
:)

when is the transfer notification date? Anyone know? Seems like a bunch of freshman here…backs away slowly

There is a UC transfer forum here: [UC Transfers - College Confidential](UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums)

I believe there is a possibility that some transfer decisions will be released on Tuesday.

KMA, I did this calculation thing a while back on the net and I think it said 3.5, but lol maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t? haha whatever. What I do know however is that my sophomore and junior years sucked, grades wise. Too bad they don’t count senior year, I did stellar on it haha -_-

^ hah i know my senior year has been all A’s, and im not even trying. kinda random, but I visited the campus today, and it sort of felt right haha

wittywriter: Your stats look good but, what’s your intended major? Rumor has it that each department has different standards.

@gotaplay2
I put psychology down which i now realize was really stupid since it is really popular and i am not really that interested in it anymore. I feel like i should go make a change to it but i think it may be too late since letters come out like this week. UC Davis is the only UC i really care about since i highly doubt Cal will take me. I hope i get in

witty: I don’t know about Psych. It seems like this year is much more difficult to figure the odds of getting in. Each school has a different formula apparently. This post on another Davis Forum was interesting:

“They use different point systems. UCD gives a lot more points for over 35 semesters of a-g approved courses. While UCSD gives points for classes over the min. a-g, they only give you a fixed certain number of points if you have over 35 a-g, while UCD gives points for every class over the a-g min., up to 1000 points. At UCSD, it is really not a helpful distinguishing factor, since most students applying have over 35 semesters a-g. So, if you have many a-g courses that will help a lower gpa. Also, I think Davis only weights up to 8 semesters of honors. They also give more points for leadership at Davis–up to 500. So, there are people that get rejected from UCSD and get into Davis and visa versa.”
