yeah that was awesome. you could barely hear the commentators in the beginning

I finished my clemson app. at the end of october, and the only mail I got was the postcard saying they got my application. early december i got my acceptance plus the in state tuition scholorship (i’m OOS). I don’t think the amount of mail they send you has any correlation to the admissions decision…

im just really nervous because im oos and the applicant pool seems really competitive. however i believe im qualified u never know in admissions. i applied in november but havent heard anything yet, just a postcard…i really really hope i get in though it is probably my top school!

Funny, today DS got a brochure from them. Anyway, decisions will come around 2/15 so it’s not long to wait/

My son applied in December and heard at the beginning of January. I think they are on a rolling admissions.

Has anyone heard from their honors college?

Panthers1, did your son get a scholarship or a provisional acceptance? Usually those are the only reasons your son would hear before 2/15

Panthers1, what is your son’s major?

Panthers1: National Scholars finalist have been notified and were accepted into the Honors college as well. Anyone else will have to wait until Feb. 15th to find out about Honors college acceptances.

I got provisional acceptance in April, and have yet to recieve any official word. I know of at least 25 students at my school that have gotten in officially, some of which who live in the same neighborhood as me. Anyone have an explanation for this?

Matthew, it might be time to send the admissions office a email or give them a call. You definitely deserve an explanation for your situation.

hello All
my daughter got her acceptance letter today, but no mention of any merit aid or honors decision. Does anybody know if they are sent in the same mailing as the acceptance? 2140 SAT many extras, 3.7 all unweighted all Honors classes so we were hoping…

^ jfl2010, Honors college applicants to Clemson should’ve been contacted about a week and a half ago via email.

My d has not heard anything from Clemson. Her app was complete back in October. We are from Massachusetts and another applicant from MA heard 2days ago. Don’t they all go out in the mail at the same time?

^ We live just down the street from Clemson and it appears, based on the 40 students at son’s school that applied, that they are being released alphabetically. Someone my H knows who works at Clemson said because of the volume they don’t mail them all the same day.

At son’s school - kids started receiving them last Saturday and are still receiving them today. We are 30 minutes from Clemson.

I just got accepted today…goin down south.!.!.! Im out of state from Toms River, New Jersey. I cant wait for the first home football game. If i dont get accepted into U Miami I will be at Clemson …GO TIGERS

Just got back from NSP weekend at Clemson. They told us that there have been over 16,000 applications for the 2010-2011 freshman class, as of Sat. WOW!

But for anyone wavering about going to Clemson, I would definitely give it another thought. We were totally blown away by the friendliness and cheerfulness of all the students that we encountered. Everyone seems extremely happy to be at Clemson. Also, the faculty members that my D and I met were so enthusiatic and very approachable.

mamagx3, good to hear that you had a great time here this past weekend! This weekend was pretty sweet because of the start of baseball season and the basketball game on Saturday.

Good luck with your D’s quest for the National Scholars Program!

Not necessarily Sports guy
Spoke with a rep from Calhoun and she said that the first round of Calhoun acceptances (other than National Scholars which had an earlier deadline) was put in the mail on Tuesday Feb 16th. Daughter got her acceptance on Thursday last week. She is very excited. Now we are waiting to see if they can give her the OSS. (she applied after the Dec 1st date)
We received no such email, that many others seemed to have received.

Thanks, pierre0913!

D really wants to go to Clemson, but since we are OOS, she needs some financial aid before she can make a final decision. She did get the OOS scholarship, so that helps but it still leaves a big chunk of money to cover. The NSP scholarship would be a major Godsend, but it is SO competitive! It made her a little angry when she would hear that Clemson wasn’t a top choice for some of the NSP finalists since there’s a good probability that some of those kids will be offered the schoalrship. Oh well, who said life was fair. D won’t find out about the NSP scholarhsip until after March 5th - the waiting is a killer!

what is ds and oos ?
