UC GPA: 3.75 ( would've been 3.85 if i didn't get b's in my community college summer courses :[) if the UC gpa was not capped at 8 points, i would have over a 4.0. [i still don't get why they cap it off at 8 semesters! i took many honors and ap's]
SAT 1: 2190. 690 R, 740 M, 760 W
SATII: Chem (800), MathII (790), Korean (640, lol)

Decent Essays,
Pretty good EC's: Positions in several clubs, internships during school, real work experience, many volunteer hours, but i guess the main one would be interning at a large organization that relates to my major,
Will have taken 6 AP's by graduation

I attend i prestigious public high school in-state

Chance me? I've been rejected from Davis and San Diego, surprised and sad by both, but got into Santa Barbara and calpoly SLO. Thank you!!

I’m not really sure, I think you have a 50/50 chance. Don’t give up yet, but don’t be surprised if you get rejected. Your stats are really similar to mine lol.

UC GPA: 3.77 (I know your feeling, I would have a higher GPA too if it weren’t for the cap)
SAT 1: 2120. 680 R, 720 M, 720 W
SATII: US History (720), Bio (780), Japanese (800)

Pretty good essays in my opinion.
Pretty good ECs as well: president in volunteering club, leadership positions in other clubs, 300+ community service hours, 8 years of karate, 2 years of marching band, no work experience. My main EC was the volunteering club leadership; was on the local newspaper several times and made a few thousand dollars to send abroad.

8 APs by end of high school.
Senior Load: 5 AP classes, and band
From competitive SoCal school

My GPA is pretty low so I’m not really expecting an acceptance, but I got an acceptance from UCSD which I was also not expecting one from so maybe I have a chance? I have a gut feeling that my extra curricular and my essay helped me a lot, or I have had very good luck up until now.
Also accepted from UCI, UCSB, and UCD.

Wow we are quite similar haha its sick you got into Davis, SD, and Irvine though. I’m still waiting for irvine I’d like to say that since you’ve gotten into all the other UC’s you’ll be in good shape for la but you never know because la and cal are in a whole different category. Wish you the best of luck

I think your SAT is pretty good, but like what purple said, your GPA is relatively low. Your ECs look good. I am surprised you got rejected from San Diego and Davis!

community college grades do not count toward your GPA to my understanding; you should only get credit for them. Good luck though! UCLA, especially this year, is pretty difficult to get in for most of us.

Agh I know, I was really surprised when I got straight up rejected from Davis, when others with much worse stats got in or even wait listed… Thank you

UCLA does not cap your GPA. Neither does Berkeley. I would say you have a nice chance of getting in. But due to how many applicants are applying this year, getting a rejection shouldn’t be a huge surprise either.

If you were rejected by both Davis and SD, this doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it might indicate that something on your app is not appealing to the mid to upper UC’s. Perhaps it was your “decent” essays?

Oh well, their decisions have all been made, so there’s no going back now! Good luck with UCLA and the rest of your college admissions! (Darn you private schools!)
