I finally got mine today and I thought the basic letter on thick white paper was not bad, but the letter on the inside of that fold-out cover on colored paper with my name in big letters was pretty amazing, and had pretty inspirational words. Definitely frame-worthy!

did you get the really cool CD?

i really like the ucla bumper sticker! its playing a factor in my decision making process. haha .. well kind of - it just reminds me of its prestige.

yay i got mine today too

No, there was no "cool CD" :(
Berkeley really doesn't have to try to attract students though... so I guess that's why they don't do much for us.

God, I'm in LA. I'm still waiting for my lackluster acceptance letter!

I realized how many envelopes I've received from other schools like USC (whose acceptance folder was NICE). C'mon Berkeley!

haha... I still haven't gotten anything from Berkeley yet - and I live about an hour away...

Although, based on these previous posts, apparently there's nothing to look forward too? =(

no theres not much to look forward to. its basically two pieces of paper, nothing flashy or exciting

^ isnt there going to be another packet? im not sure if the spring people get it also. but my friend who is going in fall told me that she got a packet...and it was from the specific college (natural resources) and it informed her of some other things..........

anyone get that yet....? i wonder if spring admits get it...

oh yea i got it yesterday, on the 3rd, and im also a spring admit. From the posts above it sounds like we all pretty much got the same thing, except in our (spring admits) main congrats letters it says we're spring admits (pretty much the same as the online letters).

Then theres also just the blue folder thing with the letter inside about hearing the conga drums and how Berkeley is like no other place in the world.

Im sure its coming for everyone soon enough, maybe they sent it out by last name order? my last name starts with a C.. or maybe they could have sent it out by area. Didnt get any packet about my college (undeclared letters and science) yet though..

So yea, i also thought it wasnt much to look at, the UCLA one was much better, so thick and pretty, with the sticker and the info packets and stuff; it made me feel wanted haha.. I want to keep the UCLA folder they included, but i'd probably get shot carrying that around at Cal..

I got mine today, and boy was I disappointed. Compared to UCSD's and UCLA's, Berkeley's acceptance package is just plain pathetic. Where's the motivation to try to get admitted students to actually attend? It seems like it was rushed and not a lot of thought when into it.

Images of HS seniors and their parents sitting at their dining room tables comparing packages and making decisions based on which Univerisity sent out the best one?? Haha... :)

If the bumper sticker is what makes the difference for you, then GO BRUINS!

yea it kinda sucked. but i still like it much much better than waitlist/reject letters.

I guess the idea is that everything should be done online, and that the admission letter is merely a formality (after all, I sent my SIR, signed up for CalSO, sent AP scores, and decided my first semester classes before I even got the package).

You can select classes online at Cal? Or are you speaking in general about another school?

Does the acceptance packet tell you what major you got accepted into? Or does anyone know how to check?

I agree with CA2006. There is a ton of stuff at myBerkeleyApp that often ends up in these admit packages (videos, resources guides, congratulations from different VIPs). Seems a bit materialistic and immature to gripe about not getting a bumper sticker :)

I got mine yesterday. It's really quite awful. It's a freaking letter and a flimsy little folder.

I also got a letter from the Bridges program. It says, "Dear Student, Congratualtions!" Talk about impersonal.

Sad.... just sad. I thought this was "the number one public university in the nation"? I'd expect a little more from them.

Can you take photos of these disappointing letters and show us? I'd like to see.

Oh come on, it isn't that bad. I've seen much worse.
