Were they mailed out when the decision e-mails came? Have any internationals received the packet? And did Amherst use courier service or ordinary mail service?

Hey Bilguun,

I haven’t received it either; I live in Afghanistan.

As they had said in the decision e-mail, the packet was sent on March 25:

‘The not-so-virtual “thick” envelope of information we mailed to you on March 25 contains information that will help you consider making Amherst your home for the next four years.’

Like you, I still have to receive my acceptance packet. My mailing address is a PO box at a ministry building here in Kabul. As of 5th of April, the packet had not been delivered. I will check the box again tomorrow.

Btw, I did receive a notification letter in an ordinary Air Mail envelope that was sent on March 29 (4 days after the acceptance packet was mailed). So big packets usually take longer to arrive.

And congratulations on your acceptance. Where are you from? Do you think you will accept Amherst’s offer?

That eases my mind a little bit. Thank you. All my other mails that were sent out at that time have already arrived (except for one from Stanford). I’m from Mongolia, by the way. I think I won’t enroll, unfortunately, because I got some really generous fin aid offers from H and Y. Congratulations on your acceptance too! Will you enroll?

Great! And thanks. I am pretty sure I will attend Amherst, though I am waiting for my “reconsidered” award amount from Georgetown.
