Acceptance question

If a school makes an offer to you for their program, have they already checked to see if you’ve been accepted academically? They would already have checked that before making an offer? Like if you got an offer for MT but haven’t heard about your academic acceptance yet…

Not all schools give a separate academic acceptance. The MT acceptance would serve as acceptance to the school as well as the program. When my daughter went through the process 2 years ago, only one or two schools on her list gave a separate academic acceptance.

It depends on the program! You CAN be rejected academically and accepted artistically.

No, not necessarily. A few years back a friend’s daughter was accepted artistically to TCU, but was on pins and needles for months before they agreed to accept her academically.

I know personally of someone who was accepted artistically for a program last year, before getting an academic acceptance. Unfortunately, they were then rejected academically and unable to attend the school. Doesn’t seem to happen super often, but it does happen.

It should say in their offer letter, however, that the MT acceptance is contingent on being accepted to the college/university, if that is the case.
