Acceptance rate and EI for specific majors?

Do they release date of the average test scores gpa, etc of specific majors. I’m majoring in business admin, and want to know if im above average or not for that specific field.

The only CSU that lists EI’s by major is SJSU. SDSU does list their average CSU GPA and test scores for each year’s admitted class. You want at least an EI of at least 4200 to be competitive for any major except Nursing.

For 2017, Business Admin had a 43% acceptance rate. 2018 data may be available in October when the CSU application period opens.

So should I be feeling pretty confident that I’lll get in with a 4400-4500 EI? edit: in state, not local

@Gumbymom

You look competitive but no guarantees. Each year applicants are ranked by EI and major so if this application cycle has very high stat applicants there is always a chance that the EI threshold could be raised. Make sure you have several Match and Safety schools on your list and you will be fine.

@Gumbymom is SDSU better than cal poly for business? Also, can you list like the top 5 csu’s for business undergrad

Both SDSU and Cal Poly SLO are excellent schools for Business majors. It really depends upon what you are looking for in the curriculum and what are your areas of interest. SDSU has an International Business major which SLO does not.

SDSU’s Fowler’s Business School has several area’s of concentration:

Accounting.
Business Administration (general)
Entrepreneurship
Finance.
Information Systems.
Management.
Marketing.
Real Estate

SLO’s Orfelea Business School Concentration Options for Business Administration and Economics Students*
Accounting
Consumer Packaging Solutions
Entrepreneurship
Financial Management
Information Systems
Management
Marketing Management
Quantitative Economics
Real Estate Economics
Real Estate Finance

I am not real big on Rankings and in no particular order:
Cal Poly SLO
San Diego State
CSU Fullerton
CSU Long Beach
San Jose State
CSU Northridge _Accounting

You will get a very good education at all of these campuses but you need to find which schools would fit you academically, financially and socially.
