Acceptance rate for 2016 entering class?

Does anyone have any data or a good estimate of this year’s acceptance rate? Wondering if it’s edging closer to 20%?

It is difficult to tell. Michigan takes a long time to release official figures. I estimate that 55,000 applied and 14,000 were accepted. That means the acceptance rate will be similar to last year’s (25%). The OOS acceptance rate, on the other hand, will be roughly 20%.

Last year, they have delayed the admission data announcement till mid to later Summer. Before that, they usually have the information released in May.

We heard 56,000 something applied at campus day.

@AverageJoe22 That number may be not final. The number I got 3 years ago at the Campus Day was also higher than final official number announced a few months later. Anyway, it is likely in the 55k-56k ballpark.

I heard 54k on my campus day

Ok- I just called them and they said they won’t have that info available until august because they’re still making decisions and there’s a May 1 enrollment deadline

^ That deadline has not been changed from the past when they announced the admission and yield rate in May.
