Hi,

Does anyone here knows the acceptance rate for CAS vs SEAS in ED versus RD.

It was mentioned that for 2015 Columbia accepted 19.57% in ED round 632 out of 3229 and the overall (RD plus ED) accepted 2419 out of 34,929 which comes to 6.93%

I couldn't find anywhere break up of these numbers between CAS & SEAS. If anyone has breakup of these numbers between CAS & SEAS please share.

Thank you

Um. For CC (“CAS” is called Columbia College here), it’s 6.4% last year. For SEAS, it’s 9.9%.

You can find information here.
[Columbia College admit rate drops to 6.4 percent](http://www.columbiaspectator.com/2011/03/30/cc-admit-rate-drops-64-percent)

Thank you zhouzichuan.

Do you have these stats for ED round? I looked around in Columbia web site, couldn’t find any. I am interested in Applied Mathematics/Applied Physics major. So I could kind of apply to either CC or SEAS, so trying to figure out which one might be better.

Thanks

They have very different curriculums, and you can’t easily switch between the two. I suggest figuring out which curriculum better matches your wishes and applying to that one, acceptance rates be damned.

^ I agree. They aren’t the same school and they have very different requirements. Choosing purely by acceptance rate is a horrible way to decide where you want to spend 4 years of your life.
