Does anyone know how many people who were deferred got in later at Yale?

I don't know the exact rate, but I'm almost positive it was lower than the overall admit rate.

ahhh crap. :(

Lower!!!
Omfg

In that article, Shaw states that approximately 1 in 10 of the deferred applicants will be offered acceptance in the regular decision round. Still a ballpark figure, though. I haven't found an exact number yet.

Edit: Sorry. I don't know if it matters, but that was for the class of 2007.

I searched through the YDN archives and couldn't find that number for last year :(

:( I'm hoping they report the early numbers soon! Maybe Monday

The first article about early action, with ballpark figures was published on the 13th last year. Exact numbers were published on the 17th. It should be any day now.

ahhhhh..... please be like 100 people! haha- no harm in dreaming :)

Hey everyone!!
Does anyone know where I can find some figures on RECENT years for like acceptance/rejection/deferral
all/any of that?? That would be great. Thank you!! :)

Anecdotally, at my overnight visit at Yale, a lot of people said that they were deferred EA but got in RD.

At an info session this year, my area rep said that for last year's class 1300 were deferred and from that group 200 were later accepted, about 15 percent admit rate. So, if you are deferred you still have a better chance of getting in than regular decision which was something like 9 percent last year.

You'd think they'd give the advantage to those who were deferred... The admissions office knows that the EA people want to go to Yale and its their first choice. Too bad they don't look at it like that.
