WHAT!?!? Why’d it go up so much

I assume it’s because everyone applies to ~10 schools now instead of ~4. Schools must really not know what the yield will be like. Also, the economy sucks, as we all know.

I’m suprised Penn allowed the newspaper to print that info before decisions are released.

holy ***** this makes me happy

…though my luck I’ll prob end up getting rejected anyway lol

I LOLed, collegebound. Me, too, probably. x.o

Lol i got wait listed at Northwestern today, hopefully Penn see’s something in me.

awesome! i wonder if this was from an increase in a specific school or just overall

i think the enrollment is talking about wine-tasting program and how many people got in…not college acceptances…
read the article more carefully:)

Are you sure?

This year, Penn admitted 21 percent of its applicants, Princeton University admitted 11.9 percent and the Wine Preceptorial topped all with its 2.3 percent admit yield.

■■■■■?

I must’ve really misread it. I’m desperate for good news, as you can see.

hmmmm, a new version of the article changes “this year penn… 24%” to “last year penn… 16.4%”. they also did the same thing with princeton rates; 11.9% this year–>9.3% last year

[Wine-tasting preceptorial admits 2.3 percent of applicants - News](http://media.www.dailypennsylvanian.com/media/storage/paper882/news/2009/03/27/News/WineTasting.Preceptorial.Admits.2.3.Percent.Of.Applicants-3685100.shtml)

i wonder if they unknowingly spilled the beans or if it was simply an error

It’s too much of a coincidence to not be admissions… right?

Do not be worried~~~It’s only 4 days anyway

21%? How embarrassing. Jihad on Eric Furda.

lol it cant be 21% b/c the applicants only dropped by 90 or so

i see a silver lining~

Although the article does refer to college admissions rates in the opening sentence, “this year’s” numbers can’t be taken seriously. Even if Penn Admissions for some reason decided to leak such sensitive data prior to March 31st, why would Princeton let DP scoop the news ahead of the Daily Princetonian? And why did this sensitive data come out in a wine-tasting article, instead of on a sreaming headline? Given all the confusion surrounding Penn Admissions this year, I doubt that they even know at this point. We’ll probably see hard numbers way after March 31st.
