Does anyone know the acceptance rate this year or last year for ChapmanU Screen Acting, PaceU FTVC, or EmersonC Theatre Performance?
@youyou666 Chapman admission department has a tumblr page, and they indicated the Screen Acting program had a 7% acceptance rate this year. I don’t know about the others. My son was accepted at Chapman for Screen Acting (early decision) and at Emerson Theatre Performance (early action).
Thanks! Do you know how many people applied and how many were accepted?
If it helps they had 12 graduates in the Screen Acting Class in 2018 that attended showcase. Most schools try to keep the same amount of students year to year so I would guess- 12-16.
@stagedoormama, the size of the class doesn’t tell you the acceptance rate, because schools typically accept more students than they have room for, knowing that some students they accept will choose to attend another school.
The Chapman tumblr page says there “were more than 300 applications” so 7% of that is how many people were accepted. For this year’s class, there are 5 boys and (I believe) 8 girls who committed. Back to your original question, Emerson accepts many more kids because the program is bigger. Keep in mind that Pace and Chapman also have prescreens. Hope this helps!
@actorparent- I know that. That is why I said “if this helps”, as I was unable to provide the specific info the OP requested. One could then extrapolate an estimated or ball park acceptance rate based on how many attended, as most of the schools I know of (because my D works in Recruitment) usually seem to accept around double, sometimes a bit more/less.
