Sometimes I think that many just apply for the name even though they are not qualified, probably mostly during RD.</p>
<p>yea that happens, but i think those people account for only 10-15% of all applicants, so the acceptance rate for the qualified applicants is somewhat like 11-12%</p>
<p>After discarding the hope shots and accounting for multiple applications, depending on who is guessing, the acceptance rates (at least one school for a given serious applicant) might be 20 or 25 percent or even higher.</p>
