Does the rate of acceptance change on what you want to major in?

there is endless debate on this topic. However, because you are not required to declare a major when you apply (in fact most people change their intended majors several times), it is difficult to quantify whether your major would impact your odds of acceptance.

But keep in mind that the school has to build a “diverse” class, meaning a class with people of different interests and majors. So it is arguably easier to get in if you are interested in more “unpopular” majors. Just remember that the readers want to see real passion behind whatever major you choose; they don’t want to see someone putting down a concentration just to better his odds.

There is no indication that selecting a certain majors advantages you.
