Acceptance Rates at Elite Boarding Schools

Thacher was a tad over 11% with an expected yield north of 80%.

@bantisse Sadly, I was waitlisted at Choate and in the letter it stated that they only accepted 15% of applicants. However, I am not sure if that is the general acceptance rate or solely for 10th-grade applicants.

For milton, they accepted less than 150 applications but received over 1600, meaning they had a pretty low acceptance rate this year

Groton is really tricky because the classes are so small. The just admitted 2nd for boys are almost all faculty kids and/or siblings. This totally varies from year to year. Also they had a huge number of faculty kids/siblings/legacies applying overall much great than usual.

Oh and also, Groton assumes 100% yield for 2nd form because it is essentially the only school in its category that offers it. So although they have 90 spots overall 28ish of the spots are in 2nd form and they do not over admit for that class.

These numbers are all much higher than advertised. It is a bit like the feds measurement of inflation-they exclude everything that matters to individuals.

Brooks School, on Facebook, said it received nearly 900 applicants and accepted 100 to get a class of about 65. This is about an 11% admit rate.

Does anybody know St. Andrew’s (DE) Acceptance rate for this year?
