I feel the same way PatM

and plus, even for myself, my sat scores were wellllll below the avg for the elliott school and for GW in general, but i got in, and i noticed others did the same thing

Most people on CC don't post if they are rejected, only if they are accepted. So you're not getting an accurate picture by just reading the accepted posts. As for your stats, GW does a very holistic reading of the applications, especially during the ED rounds. ED gives you a definite advantage. Pat, even though your SAT scores are below average, your class rank and GPA are above average and your ECs are strong so with the ED advantage I would have predicted you would be accepted. Mcatt and Theory both have politically-oriented ECs that were probably perceived as evidence of a good match with GW.

Prospective..could you tell if the others that didn't get in were in your GPA/Test score range? trying to figure out if they are looking at that vs. holistic.

I think that they are doing a holistic appproach to the application. My GPA was very low (2.998) but my other areas were solid. In addition my grades in 9th and 10th grade were B/C and my grades in 11th and 1st trimester senior (which they saw) were mostly A's...

One of the people who were accepted had low SAT scores, and they were accepted.
In the two that were denied, one had a GPA only a little higher then mine with low SAT scores, and the other had a GPA a lot lower than mine and SAT scores that were good (or so I've heard). But neither participated in any clubs or did much EC's.

So it sounds like they are doing a holistic approach.

Bumping this for the ED II decisions!
