so...whats the earliest that we should find out if we applied RD to CAS? (if anyone who applied last year knows)

april 1st for rej/acceptance to CAS ...as early as mid. feb. for deferral to GSP

even earlier my friend found out last week about gsp

They haven't even begun the process yet, let alone deferred people to GSP.

yeah they have my friend had an an interview for gsp last week and got accepted

"my friend had an an interview for gsp last week and got accepted"

ummm...
no he didn't.
NYU only gives interviews/auditions to Tisch applicants...

omg wow lol you dont know what you are talking about. they also give interviews to GSP people..the interviews dont mean anything, basically if you get called to one you are in GSP, they make it seem like they are considering you for GSP not that you already are accepted. anyone thats in GSP feel free to vouch for me lol. i know a lot about gsp because my sister is in it... so dont mess! = P

I'm having trouble believing this too...

Why would GSP need interviews?

prob to see if the people they are deferring are worth deferring. they might be checking if they should let them in at all.

GSP always gives interviews..they dont mean anything though you are in if you get one

you sure this wasnt just a REALLY late ED applicant? they definitely give interviews for gsps in that particular scenario.

GSP does do interviews. Only a small portion of all applicants are even considered for GSP, so it would make sense that they do this.

dumb question - whats gsp?

Yes, GSP does interviews. When someone gets a letter indicating they've been referred (not deferred) to GSP, they're offered either a face to face or phone interview so that they can learn the details of GSP and ask any questions they may have. It's doubtful that anyone has heard about GSP yet though. It's too early.

jjjj, GSP = General Studies Program. A small percentage of rejected students, mainly CAS applicants, are given the opportunity of going into this two year program. If they maintain a certain gpa, they're guaranteed entry into the school they first applied to at the end of the two years.

I really want to get into gsp; I doubt I have the math sat/grades to get into CAS. GSP will do, I know a lot of very smart people who are going GSP through ED. Oh, and probably she got gsp from ED round. I doubt RD.

They didn't even offer an interview for me. (gsp ed)

hmm..does anyone know of the cstep program or something similar to that at NYU...maybe it is that if not gsp
